At Simpler®, we have developed a powerful, simple, systematic approach to Lean Transformation. It is a path as much as a process, called the Simpler Business System®. And to guide organizations along the SBS path to Lean, we have created a team of sensei (SEN-say).
A sensei is more of a teacher or coach. Rather than merely
studying your situation and delivering recommendations, our sensei work with your senior
leaders, coaching and mentoring them, helping them to affect change as part of your organization’s
Lean Transformation. What sounds like a subtle difference is not. Our sensei don’t just tell you
what to do; they transfer their learning to your people, helping them recognize the changes needed
so they can continue to transform your organization, even after our assignment is complete. The end
result is that your people develop the confidence to try and can make sustainable change happen.
Not everyone can be a sensei. You won’t find untried MBAs in our ranks. Our sensei have all traveled the path before. They are your peers, former CEOs, COOs and high-level managers who know what works and what doesn’t from actually doing it, not reading it in a textbook. Sensei are natural teachers. They value enabling others through knowledge and are fanatical about their own continued self learning. But they are also pragmatists. They understand that their success— and yours—is measured by results.
