Timothy M. Whitmore

Tim is Vice President of Consulting Services and has accountability for achieving lasting relationships and results for client engagements. Tim oversees large-scale performance improvement deployments for North American commercial clients. He has mentored and facilitated executive teams to lead business process improvement and culture transformations in both the commercial and public sectors.

Tim’s expertise is built from over 27 years of progressive experience in operations leadership leading large-scale lean enterprise transformations. Tim began his lean education in 1992 as a general manager for HON Industries (now HNI Corporation), a Fortune 500 company and one of the nation’s largest manufacturers of office furniture and hearth products. Demonstrated competency in strategic leadership led to his promotion to Vice President of Operations, where he was responsible for enterprise-wide lean transformation of a multi-site operating company of HON Industries. He learned lean under the coaching of the Shingijutsu Group, original architects of the Toyota Production System. Tim joined Simpler Consulting in June 2001, as a Senior Consultant. He was promoted to Vice President, Consulting Services in December, 2003.

Tim is a 1980 graduate of the University of Iowa with majors in Administrative Management and Industrial Relations.
